Paramilitary Crime Task Force operation against INLA sees suspected Pregabalin seized

Police investigating “INLA drug activity” have seized suspected Pregabalin and a “substantial sum of money”.

In a brief statement, the PSNI said officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have also arrested a 33-year-old man following a search in West Belfast on Tuesday evening.

Detective Inspector Hamilton said: “A quantity of suspected Class B and C controlled drugs, including the prescription drug Pregabalin, were seized from a property during the proactive policing operation. A substantial sum of money was also seized during the operation.

“The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B controlled drugs, possession Class C controlled drugs, being concerned in the supply of drugs and possession of criminal property. He is assisting police with their enquiries.

“This search, targeting the criminal activities of the INLA, is evidence of our continuing commitment to tackling the harm caused by paramilitaries supplying drugs in our communities.”
