Paramedics taken to Holy Island by lifeboat after man suffers suspected heart attack

Paramedics had to be transported to Holy Island by lifeboat after a man suffered a suspected heart attack.

At around 2.45am on Wednesday the UK Coastguard paged Seahouses RNLI team to transport the ambulance crew to the island as the causeway was closed due to the tide.

The lifeboat was launched and took the paramedics to Holy Island where they were met by the local Coastguard Team, who led them to the casualty.

Thankfully, when the male was treated by paramedics, his condition was not as serious as initially believed.

A spokesman for the Seahouses RNLI said: "The Lifeboat was launched and took the paramedics to Holy Island by sea, where they were met by the local Coastguard Team, who conveyed them to the casualty’s location.

"The male was treated by the paramedics, and his condition was not as serious as first thought.

"He did not require hospitalisation. The ambulance crew were then transported back to their vehicle at Seahouses.

"The Lifeboat was refuelled and rehoused and the crew were able to return to bed at 6.10am that day."
