Paramedics rush to busy Edinburgh road as man, 39, dies after taking ill

A 39-year-old man has died after taking ill on a busy Edinburgh road around rush hour.

Emergency services raced to Crewe Road North shortly after 7am this morning amid reports a man had taken ill.

Despite paramedics rushing to the the incident, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, reports Edinburgh Evening News.

Police say that the man's death is not being treated as suspicious, with a report to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Crewe Road North in Edinburgh around 7:10am on Tuesday 22 September 2020, following a report that a 39-year-old man had taken ill.
