Paramedics explain how they will look when they arrive, and why

An ambulance trust has shared pictures of how its drivers, technicians and paramedics could look when they arrive at an emergency.

They say just because crews are wearing the personal protective equipment it doesn't mean people should worry.

South Western Ambulance Service says the gear is a precaution, and not an indication that crews believe you have or could have the new coronavirus Covid-19.

The trust tweeted: "You may see more of our staff wearing surgical masks and disposal aprons along with other Personal Protective Equipment.

"Please don’t be alarmed, we are simply doing everything we can to protect our staff and our patients as much as possible."

They added: "It doesn't mean we think you have coronavirus, we just want to make sure that we are being as careful as possible for everyone’s safety."
