A paramedic was left horrified after being called out to his own home to try and save his 12-year-old son's life - only for it to be too late.
Troy Heise had started his shift working as a paramedic in Queensland, Australia, when his wife Sarah dialled 999 for help after their son Flynn was found unresponsive in early 2021.
The medic was on duty when he saw his address flash up and thought there must have been an error.
But the paramedic was told to drive the ambulance quickly towards his home.
After working for 15 years as a paramedic it was a call he hoped he'd never receive leaving Troy was tasked with a horrendous weight on his shoulders.

Troy told The Sunday Project: "In the back of your mind, you brain's going, this isn't real, this isn't real.
"That can't be my house, why would something bad happen at my house?
"This was so sudden and something that I never expected, it's unheard of."
Mum Sarah, his wife of 17 years, made the emergency phone call after finding Flynn in the bathroom unresponsive.
The 12-year-old had been in the toilet for over 20 minutes which left Sarah concerned as she knocked open the door to find Flynn on the floor.
As the paramedics arrived Troy was in "disbelief" after finding Flynn on the floor and in need of life-saving assistance.

The terrified parent struggled to treat it like any other job as the fate of his child laid in his hands.
He admitted: "When it's your own son, your emotionally attached, your scared, your angry, your worried... I couldn't perform."
After desperately trying to revive Flynn, he soon realised his worse nightmare - as he went to comfort wife Sarah to expect the worst as he called for more help.
Troy told The Paramedic Podcast : "It's my son. Send everyone. I ended up with 12 paramedics, six cops, our front street looked like a war zone.
"We were just in a daze, Sarah and I. We needed to step back."

Flynn was admitted to hospital - but tragically died just three days later as his family gathered round to say goodbye to him.
He said: "My world turned upside down. It was so hard to get called to something as traumatic as that."
The dad believes Flynn was in the shower when he slipped and fell as the shower cord was wrapped around his neck.
Flynn's organs were donated to young children who would have died without them.

His eye tissue restored the sight of patients and two much grateful women received his kidneys, which they desperately needed.
Troy admitted: "It wasn't an easy decision. But my boy saved lives, and although he's not here, he is here. I'm just a proud dad."
