Paraglider who died after crashing into power cables named

A 40-year-old man who died after paragliding into overhead power cables has been named as Wayne Seeley.

The Stonehouse man was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash in Eastington on Tuesday, June 2.

A post-mortem was conducted on June 18 and an inquest will be held into Mr Seeley's death, reports Gloucestershire Live.

"I can confirm the deceased was Wayne Barry Seeley, 40 years of age from Stonehouse," The coroner said.

"A post-mortem was carried out on June 18 and the cause of death has still yet to be ascertained.

"An inquest was opened on June 18 and has been adjourned to a date to be fixed."

Paramedics, firefighters, an air ambulance and police were in attendance in the Bush Close area of Eastington following the crash, at 1:10pm, on June 2.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said at the time: "Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene."

A total of 133 homes and businesses in the area were also left without power following the crash.
