Parachutist taken to hospital after crash landing on a roof

A parachutist had to be taken to hospital after crash landing on a roof in County Durham.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene of the accidental landing in Shotton on Sunday.

The parachutist required rescuing by Peterlee Green Watch after he crash landed on to the roof of a building.

The man was then taken to hospital in an air ambulance.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "Peterlee Green Watch have rescued a parachutist involved in an accidental landing on the roof of a building in Shotton.

"He has been taken by air ambulance to hospital."
