Papiss Cisse's heartwarming message to fellow Newcastle United legends is applauded by fans

Newcastle United legend nine Papiss Cisse has sent a heartwarming message to two of his former teammates.

The 34-year-old, who is still knocking in the goals in the Turkish top-flight, took to Twitter to wish Argentine duo Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez his best for 2020.

The trio played together for four years between 2012 and 2016, and played key roles in United's fifth-place finish and following Europa League campaign.

Replying to Jonas Gutierrez on Twitter, who had been hanging out with Coloccini playing Futsal, Cisse wrote: "Love you guys. I enjoyed [the] time spent together, best men you two.

"I'll never forget - you're amazing players and great guys.

"Happy New Year, and all the best for you guys and your family.

"One love - forever."

The tweet has gained quite the response with some fans even asking Cisse to return to United this January!

Many players who were part of that side which reached the quarter finals of the Europa League under Alan Pardew, often speak about the great spirit within the dressing room.

Cisse finished his time on Tyneside scoring 44 goals - including the memorable strike against Chelsea which for many was the goal of the decade.

He finished as the top scorer in the Turkish top flight last season with 16 goals, and has already hit nine in 12 this campaign.
