Two newspapers - The News in Portsmouth and its sister weekly, the Chichester Observer - have successfully challenged a ban on identifying a man jailed for eight months for possessing 697 indecent images of children. A judge sitting at Chichester magistrates' court overturned the ban imposed by magistrates following a letter from the Press Association's legal editor Mike Dodd, supported by the two papers.
