Paper cup used by Jeremy Corbyn sells for £51 on eBay

If you want proof that Corbynmania is definitely a thing, and that it’s gone way, way too far, look no further than eBay, where a bidding war erupted over a paper cup that Jeremy Corbyn drank a coffee out of earlier in the month.

The cup, which looks just like an ordinary cup and shows no signs that the Labour leadership candidate has graced it with his lips, ended up being sold for £51 after 23 bids were put in.

The description under the listed item explains that Corbyn gave the cup to someone outside the playhouse in Nottingham. “I realise most people would have put it in the bin but I asked what would JC do and concluded that if people need benefit, it would be OK. I hope he agrees or at least understands.”

The money raised from the cup is being donated to Age UK in Notts, so anyone rolling their eyes over the red-hot political fever sweeping the nation can calm down.

The person selling the cup said if the bids reached £50 they would attempt to get Corbyn to sign it, but so far he has not commented.
