Pape Matar Sarr shows versatility, Troy Parrott assist, Whiteman debut - Tottenham loan latest

Tottenham Hotspur's young loan players have a new arrival among their ranks following the signing of Pape Matar Sarr.

The 18-year-old midfielder signed for Tottenham this week on a long-term contract and headed straight back out on loan to the French club.

Sarr joins four Spurs players out on loan across the Football League and Europe but more academy stars are expected to follow in their footsteps before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.

Let's have a look at how the quintet are getting on so far at their loan clubs:

Pape Matar Sarr (Metz)

Now a Spurs player, Sarr, who turns 19 in a fortnight's time, made his fourth consecutive Ligue 1 start of the season on Sunday.

The central midfielder showed his versatility by switching to a left wing role on the edge of a front three as Metz drew 2-2 at Clermont.

Sarr had 51 touches of the ball on the day, more than any other Metz player beyond the defence on the day but a pass accuracy of 74.4 per cent, which was lower than all but one of the non-defenders who started the game.

Sarr has now joined up with the Senegal squad for their World Cup qualifiers.

Troy Parrott (MK Dons)

Parrott bagged two goals in his first three games for MK Dons and now he has an assist to his name.

The Republic of Ireland international has already made more of an impact than he did at Millwall and Ipswich Town last season in that respect.

The 19-year-old grabbed the assist but didn't get too much praise for his latest performance as MK Dons won 2-0 against Acrrington Stanley

The MK Citizen gave the young Irishman a 5.5 in their player ratings and said of his performance: "Did well to line up Eisa for the opener, but didn't get going really. Struggled with his first touch in the first half in particular."

Parrott has now headed joined up with the Republic of Ireland squad.

Kion Etete (Northampton Town)

Etete got another 79 minutes of League Two football under his belt as Northampton Town drew 0-0 at Crawley Town.

The big striker was denied by the goalkeeper with a couple of goalscoring opportunites.

The Northampton Chronicle gave Etete a 6.5 in their player ratings with the review: "Another bustling, all-action display up top, but couldn't make the most of two great chance that came his way, though Morris deserves credit for keeping out both with smart stops."

Jamie Bowden (Oldham Athletic)

Bowden was back in a matchday squad for Oldham after he found himself having to isolate in the previous week.

The 20-year-old midfielder was an unused substitute as Athletic won 2-1 at Sutton United in League Two.

Alfie Whiteman (Degerfors IF)

Whiteman made his debut after joining Swedish side Degerfors IF on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper made his bow in the 2-0 defeat at home in the Allsvenskan against Mjallby and will be looking to get more starts under his belt.
