Papa John's paying one lucky vegan £6,000 to eat pizza in tasty job opportunity

If you love pizza and just happen to be a vegan this could be the perfect job for you.

Papa John's pizza are offering one lucky herbivore around £6,000 for a part time role developing and tasting pizza recipes they hope will blow the minds of even meat eaters.

The part-time role is 8-10 hours a month, from January to June 2020, paying £6,000 circa - that's around £100-£125 per hour.

As for the very tasty job opportunity, the successful candidate will need to get their taste buds at the ready as their first task will be testing out the fast food firm's new buffalo cauliflower wings among other recipes as chief vegan officer (CVO).

Papa John's Marketing Director, Giles Codd, said: "We're looking for someone who's extremely passionate about food with a firm knowledge of veganism. If you think you've got what it takes, we'd love to hear from you.

"2019 has been a huge year for plant-based food and gone are the days where vegans and veggies are limited to a couple of disappointing side dishes.

"With the launch of several new vegan menu items this year, including vegan Sheese® which flew out the door as soon as it hit the menu, it's clear that there is a huge appetite for more exciting plant-based offerings.

"At Papa John's we want to continue to offer all our customers a wealth of choice and our newly appointed CVO will help guide these menu developments."

The newly appointed CVO will be the pizza chain's eyes and ears of upcoming vegan trends and will report to Tom Allen, the firm's head of research and development, to help with creating delicious new vegan recipe innovations.

The ideal candidate will have the following ingredients:

  • A food technology background
  • Hold a genuine passion for vegan food and trends
  • A Food Science degree or similar
  • A self-starter, curious and eager to help Papa John’s develop new vegan innovations
  • Excellent communication skills

Extra dough but not essentials include:

  • Being a vegan for the last 18 months
  • Frequently use #Vegan on their personal social accounts
  • The ability to remove an avocado stone in under 60 seconds
  • Able to back themselves in a veganism debate with Piers Morgan

Any interested vegans can apply by sending their CVs to papajohns@wcommunications.co.uk with a cover letter explaining why they're the perfect candidate.
