Paolozzi Restaurant and Bar to open in former Edinburgh RBS building with beer, food, and art

Edinburgh's Forrest Road will see the opening of the Paolozzi Restaurant and Bar in the coming months – with plenty of beer, food, and art.

The team at Edinburgh Beer Factory, founders John and Lynne Dunsmore, will be joining forces with Gino Stomaiuolo of Nonna's Kitchen to open the new venue at the former RBS building in March.

Works are currently ongoing to bring the building to life with Eduardo Paolozzi artwork, however the classic 'Surgical Instrument Makers' ghost sign, which dates back to the 19th century will remain on the frontage.

And, inside, a portion of the Telfer Wall, part of the city's old town walls, has been unearthed and will remain exposed to visitors.

The old bank vaults have been transformed into toilets (where you can hear audio clips about Paolozzi and his works) and a sculptural bar will dominate the front of the venue with a walk-in space and casual seating also available.

Edinburgh Beer Factory's flagship Paolozzi lager will be on-tap having been brewed less than five miles from the venue, while Gino has designed an Italian tapas-style menu, which also features 'build your own' dishes and Naples-style wood fired pizzas.

Gino said: "This partnership evolved from two family businesses with shared values of independence, accessible quality and a love of Edinburgh's international culture and creativity. We hope to enrich the city's thriving independent food and drink scene while promoting one of its great unsung heroes."
