Paolo Nutini buys Lewis Capaldi’s Chewbacca mask from TRNSMT after bidder drops out - here’s how you could win it

Paolo Nutini has come to the rescue to buy Lewis Capaldi ’s Chewbacca mask from TRNSMT after the original top bidders pulled out.

The Paisley crooner saved the day by purchasing the Wookie mask and donating a cool £10,000 to Tiny Changes, a mental health charity set up in memory of Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison.

Cheeky chap Lewis wore the mask as he took to the main stage at this year’s TRNSMT festival, in response to Noel Gallagher calling him after the Star Wars character and telling him to enjoy his 15 minutes.

During the same set, he dedicated a cover of Oasis hit Don’t Look Back In Anger - changed to Don’t Chewback In Anger - to the Brit Pop legend amid an ongoing light-hearted spat.

But if you had visions of the Last Request singer donning the mask around the house, you should know Paolo won’t be keeping a hold of it for long.

Instead, he’s decided to raffle the infamous item off in a bid to raise even more cash for the charity.

Paolo said: “I really wanted to find a way to help out the Tiny Changes Charity. Not only am I a big fan of Frightened Rabbit but I was lucky enough to share the stage with them on various occasions - most memorably for me on Hogmanay in Edinburgh 2017.

“Scott was such a great and honest songwriter who was not afraid to convey what he was going through in such a beautiful and honest way. People could hear and read their troubles in his lyrics and be reminded that they were not alone in how they were feeling. That really is the power of music.

“When I found out what happened regarding the money raised for the kind donation from the team at DF Concerts and Lewis Capaldi, I felt like I could help. The idea is now to give people another chance to take it home and contribute to this very important cause.”

Fans can try their luck at nabbing the worn and signed mask by entering the competition via text from 9am today.

To be in with a chance, all you need to do is text TC to 84902.

Texts cost £1 with all cash going towards Tiny Changes. Fans have until midnight on Monday August 5 to enter.
