Pantibar staff 'heartbroken' after being forced to remove public handwashing station due to vandals

Pantibar has been forced to remove the public handwashing station outside the club after it was vandalised multiple times.

The popular gay bar on Capel Street announced that they had to get rid of it for “fear of it causing flooding and damage inside Panitbar if it is destroyed again”.

The handwashing station had been installed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They said on social media: “We are heartbroken to say that the public handwashing station we installed in March has been vandalised again.

“Unfortunately due to this happening so frequently and even with our best efforts to keep it secure, we have no choice but to remove it for fear of it causing flooding and damage inside Panitbar if it is destroyed again.

“We hope you all understand, this decision was not taken lightly but the actions of a small number of individuals has caused this unfortunate conclusion.

“Mind each other, keep safe and be kind. We will see you all again soon once our flamboyant doors open again.”
