Panti Bliss launches campaign to announce Ireland’s Eurovision scores on RTE

Panti Bliss has launched a Twitter campaign to announce Ireland’s Eurovision scores on RTE in 2022.

Every year, an Irish legend features on the broadcast to hand out our points to the hopeful contestants of the competition.

Nicky Byrne and Ryan O’Shaughnessy have given out points in the past, but Panti Bar owner Rory O’Neill wants to shake things up.

The show will take place in Italy this May, and Panti has volunteered herself to represent the country.

She tweeted: “My 2022 campaign to announce the results of the Irish vote on this years #Eurovision starts here!”

Of course, Twitter went into a frenzy with celebrities across the nation supporting Panti’s dreams.

Imelda May tweeted “#Panti4EurovisionResults all the way”, with Eurovision queen Linda Martin saying “Europe would love” her “dearest friend”.

Bressie said he was “unsure why it’s even up for conversation”, while James Kavanagh tweeted his support by saying “YES PLS”.

Panti’s fans also tweeted their support, one said: “The Queen of Ireland deserves to be seen throughout Europe.”

Another posted: “Should have happened last year and every year, in fairness. #PantiForEurovision22.”

A third commented: “Seriously, have they not gotten this sorted yet? You are the only one! Think how this would lift all of our spirits.”

And a final person added: “If this doesn’t work you’ll just have to write and perform our entry for next year.”

Ireland will choose their entry for the contest on The Late Late Show this Friday, and we're hoping Panti's dreams will come true too!
