Panthers WR Torrey Smith puts TMZ on notice over hog-hunting story

Panthers wide receiver Torrey Smith is a hunter and he doesn’t care who knows it. Carolina’s ninth-year receiver just put TMZ on notice on Twitter after they posted a story about Smith sharing a photo of himself posing with some dead hogs.

Smith suggested TMZ was trying to manufacture a controversy over the photo since there’s no true scandals to report. Here’s the tweet.

Smith was born in Colonial Beach, VA and went to college at Maryland before the Ravens drafted him. He has won two Super Bowls, one with Baltimore and another with Philadelphia.

The Panthers signed Smith in free agency last year but he only played in 11 games and was ineffective after suffering a knee injury. He caught a total of 17 passes on 31 targets from Cam Newton for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Smith has a $5 million cap hit for this coming season, but the team can cut him at any time without a penalty.
