Panthers WR D.J. Moore makes Pro Football Focus team of the week

Not many people were expecting the Panthers wide receivers to ball out this past week after getting shut down by the 49ers. D.J. Moore responded to the criticism with one of the best games of his career.

According to Pro Football Focus, Moore made their team of the Week for Week 10 along with Buccaneers wideout Mike Evans.

“Moore caught 7-of-9 targets for 101 yards and five first downs against Tennessee on Sunday, including a toe-tapping snag down the left sideline that should go down as one of the better catches of the weekend. He also averaged 2.97 yards per route run and forced one missed tackle after the catch.”

Moore hasn’t scored much since Carolina picked him in the first round of last year’s draft – he has just three touchdowns in 24 games. However, he’s been effective at moving the chains – he’s helped produce 71 first downs.

The knocks on Moore’s game since coming into the league have mostly been about his ball security (he has lost five fumbles) and route running. Moore showed some growth in both areas against Tennessee, though.

It will be interesting to see how and if the addition of Donte Moncrief will open things up for Moore and the other Panthers receivers.
