The Panthers 2019 receiver corps isn’t getting a lot of love from the national media. For example, they were recently ranked the No. 28 receiver group in the NFL by Bleacher Report. We believe some projections for Carolina’s receivers are not taking into account the development of promising young wideouts like D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. Not everyone is sleeping on them, of course. Matt Harmon has named Samuel one of his top breakout receivers for 2019.
Samuel had success no matter what type of coverage he saw in 2018, whether it was man or press. He also had an impressive contested catch rate.
It’s difficult to guess exactly how the targets will be distributed this coming season, but Samuel should see most of his looks on the outside.
