Panthers WR Curtis Samuel expected to play vs. Titans

Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel is listed as questionable for today’s game against the Titans with a shoulder injury. However, according to Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, he is expected to play.

There was a lot of hype for Samuel coming into this season based on what he did during training camp – he was regularly hooking up with Cam Newton for deep passes down the field and burning a Carolina secondary that’s one of the league’s best this year.

Unfortunately, the results haven’t been there for Samuel since the season began. He’s caught just half (27 of 54) of his targets this year, but to be fair a lot of them have been inaccurate throws from Kyle Allen.

The Panthers might want to consider using Samuel more as a runner. For his career, he’s scored eight rushing touchdowns on just 17 carries.
