Panthers WR Chris Hogan explains the nickname that Reggie Bush gave him

The Carolina Panthers signed one of the NFL’s most unique receivers in Chris Hogan, whose nickname describes his game perfectly. He was given the nickname “7-11” by former teammate Reggie Bush because of his uncanny ability to get open.

After signing with the Panthers, Hogan told reporters he hopes his nickname sticks in Carolina because it means that he’s doing his job right, according to Jourdan Rodrigue at the Charlotte Observer.

Hogan isn’t the typical burner that creates space by blazing past defenders, so his crafty route running abilities are essential to his game. Last season, he was able to create the most space on a touchdown pass since 2015. He did this while playing the Pittsburgh Steelers — who he also torched in the AFC Championship game with nine receptions, 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Hogan’s routes, hands and deep ball ability should make him an excellent addition to Carolina’s wide receiver corps.
