One spot the Carolina Panthers have had no issues maintaining, even coming in to the 2021 campaign, is off the edge. Now, they think they may have their hands a little full.
As a result of their surplus of pass rushers, the Panthers are reportedly willing to listen to trade offers on defensive end Marquis Haynes. Joseph Person of The Athletic was first on the report late Tuesday morning, just hours ahead of the league’s trade deadline.

Carolina currently carries a solid handful of edge defenders including Brian Burns, Haason Reddick, Morgan Fox, Yetur Gross-Matos and Frankie Luvu. Luvu’s emergence this season, in particular, has made Haynes more dispensable in the rotation.
A 2018 fourth-round selection of the previous regime, Haynes has seen a limited amount of playing time throughout the year—having played in just 19 percent of the defense’s snaps thus far. He registered his lowest amount of defensive snaps (five) this past Sunday in the 19-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
