Panthers’ Week 10 game vs. Packers flexed to new time slot

The Panthers just faced one of the toughest teams in the NFC on the road. In a couple of weeks, they’ll have to do it again.

Carolina is scheduled to face the Packers in Green Bay Week 10. Originally, the game was supposed to start at 1:00 p.m. ET. Now, instead it will get started at the 4:25 p.m. ET time slot on FOX.

The Panthers are part of the reason why there’s more interest in this particular matchup. Carolina has been better than advertised this season and has a legitimate MVP candidate in Christian McCaffrey, who is having one of the most sensational years for a running back in NFL history.

That said, the main draw here is Aaron Rodgers and the 7-1 Packers, who just beat a Patrick Mahomes-less Chiefs on their home field, aided by a game-winning throw that only Rodgers (and perhaps Mahomes) can make.

Not too bad, I guess.

Green Bay also has a much better defense than Rodgers has had most of his career. The additions of Za’darius Smith and Preston Smith has improved their pass rush (they have 15 sacks total) and their secondary has gone from being one of the worst in the league a couple years ago to one of the best.

The Panthers may need a shot in the arm to get past them at Lambeau Field. It sounds like an ideal time for Cam Newton to return to the lineup.
