Panthers waive safety, sign former Arkansas cornerback

Panthers general manager Marty Hurney has been a busy man this offseason. The work continued today as the team kept tinkering in the secondary. According to the official website, Carolina has waived safety Kai Nacua and signed former Arkansas cornerback Ryan Pulley.

Pulley (5-foot-11, 209 pounds) played at Island Coast High School in Cape Coral, Florida before he joined the Razorbacks. He posted six interceptions in his college career but a 4.61 second 40-yard dash (28 of 31 DBs) at the combine didn’t help his case and he went undrafted.

The addition of Pulley gives the Panthers another option at cornerback. If he makes the team, he will likely compete for snaps with a few other backups at the bottom end of the depth chart.
