Panthers vs. Rams will be hottest home opener in franchise history

The Panthers and Rams will kick off their 2019 seasons in a couple of hours. While we are predicting a low-key shootout, nobody really knows how any NFL game is going to go. It could be a defensive slug-fest or a turnover-ridden nightmare. One thing we do know is that it’ll be hot.

According to local meteorologist Brad Panovich, his forecast says the temperature for today’s game will be 93 degrees, which would make it the hottest home opener in franchise history. For the superstitious crowd, the previous high was 91 degrees, which happened for the home opener to begin Carolina’s fabled 2015 season.

Neither team should expect an advantage from the high temperatures. The Rams of course play in southern California, so they’re no strangers to hot conditions.
