Panthers vs. Packers: Winners and Losers for Week 10

It was a nail biter, but the Carolina Panthers came up just short against the Green Bay Packers by a score of 24-16 at a snowy Lambeau field.

Let’s take a look at the winners and losers for this week.

Winner: TE Greg Olsen

The Panthers’ all-pro tight end has been relatively quiet this season as a receiver. Olsen had a throwback performance today, though.

Olsen finished with eight catches for 98 yards. It wasn’t just his stats but it was also his timely first down catches to keep drives alive in which Olsen shined the brightest.

Loser: Carolina’s run defense (again)

All the clutch catches from Olsen in the world won’t win any games for the Panthers until they fix their run defense. Green Bay’s running backs went wild, especially Aaron Jones. He posted 93 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries, an average of 7.2 yards per tote.

Winner and loser: QB Kyle Allen

No quarterback has an easy time playing at Lambeau field, especially when it’s snowing. Kyle Allen showed a lot of poise, throwing for a career high 307 passing yards to go along with one touchdown on the day. That said, Allen threw several balls that could have been intercepted and fumbled again.

Winner: RB Christian McCaffrey

This was another MVP level performance by Christian McCaffrey. Arguably the best running back in the league ran the ball 20 times for 108 yards and scored a touchdown as well. He was pretty good in the passing game as he caught six of seven balls that were thrown his way.

McCaffrey came up just short at the goal line on the last play of the game, but you can’t blame this loss on him.
