Panthers trade Logan Shaw to Ducks for Michael Sgarbossa

The Florida Panthers traded forward Logan Shaw, 25, a third-round pick by Florida in 2011, to the Ducks for 6-foot center Michael Sgarbossa, who has no goals and three points in 19 NHL games for Colorado and Anaheim.

Shaw had seven points in 53 games for the Panthers last season, but didn't make the team out of training camp. Sgarbossa, has two assists in nine games this season. Although undrafted, Sgarbossa led the OHL with 102 points, including 47 goals, in the 2011-12 season. In his first pro season in the AHL, he had 44 points in 57 games for the Lake Eerie Monsters.

He has the skill to contribute and we always want to be rolling four lines of skill," said co-assistant general manager Steve Werier of Sgarbossa, who will be heading to Springfield, Florida's AHL affiliate.
