Panthers signing OLB Justin Houston

The Carolina Panthers finally got themselves some more credentials in their pass-rushing arsenal—four Pro Bowls’ worth, to be exact.

As first reported by ESPN NFL senior insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers have come to terms on a one-year deal with outside linebacker Justin Houston. The addition was officially announced by the team moments later.

Houston, 34 years old, will be entering his 13th pro campaign in 2023. He spent his last two with the Baltimore Ravens—having amassed 55 combined tackles (13 for a loss), 14.0 sacks, 34 quarterback hits and a pair of forced fumbles over 29 games.

Prior to his stop in Baltimore, Houston spent a couple of seasons under current Panthers head coach Frank Reich in Indianapolis. As a Colt, he recorded 19.0 sacks in 32 outings.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder now joins the fold in Carolina, where the defense has been searching for a partner for Pro Bowl pass rusher Brian Burns.
