Panthers signing Matt Paradis named one of early free agency’s top value deals

Any team with enough cap room can sign a bunch of players (the Raiders are walking proof of that). It takes a smart front office to craft a contract that represents a value, though. When the Panthers signed center Matt Paradis to a three year, $27 million contract they got one of the best values in early free agency, according to a list compiled by former Panthers Wire editor Matthew Stevens.

Even though Paradis was the consensus top center on the market this year, he signed for less than others.

“It was expected Paradis could become the highest-paid center in the league in free agency but found himself well undervalued. Paradis wasn’t even the highest-paid center in free agency, coming in third to Mitch Morse and Maurkice Pouncey.”

As long as Paradis can stay on the field, this should prove to be one of the team’s best moves of the 2019 offseason.
