Panthers sign former Patriots WR Chris Hogan to 1-year deal

The Carolina Panthers have signed former New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan to a one-year deal, per the team website.

Hogan (6 feet 1, 210 pounds) went undrafted out of Monmouth and has been bouncing around the AFC East since 2012. He spent time on the practice squads of the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills before he really got a chance to play in New England, signing a three-year deal in March 2016.

Hogan has played in 88 career regular-season games, posting 194 catches, 2,610 yards and 18 touchdowns. In nine career postseason games, he has 34 catches for 542 yards and four touchdowns.

Hogan offers Cam Newton another red zone weapon with Devin Funchess having left for the Colts.
