Before we dive in to Cam Newton’s throwing motion and minicamp in general, there’s a transaction to report. The Panthers have just announced that they have signed linebacker Sione Teuhema (6-foot-4, 232 pounds), who took part in the team’s recent rookie minicamp.
This is actually Teuhema’s second season in the NFL, but he was still eligible for rookie camp because he didn’t play in a game last year. After brief runs with the Bears and Jets, he landed in the AAF with the Arizona Hotshots before the league folded.
Even without Thomas Davis, the Panthers are pretty stacked at the linebacker position, so it won’t be easy for Teuhema to make the 53-man roster.
To make room for him, Carolina waived defensive tackle T.J. Barnes.
