Panthers rise to No. 7 in Week 10 power rankings

The Panthers are looking a lot better today than they did a week ago after they got blown out by the 49ers.

On Sunday, they got a bounce-back victory at home over the Titans, proving they can beat solid defensive teams. Heading into Week 10, Doug Farrar at Touchdown Wire has Carolina ranked No. 7 in the league – up four spots from last week and their highest ranking of the season so far.

Football may be a team game, but Christian McCaffrey is carrying the Panthers’ offense and deserves a ton of the credit.

“The third-year man from Stanford leads the league in yards from scrimmage with 1,244, and total touchdowns with 13. He’s on pace for 2,488 yards from scrimmage, which would put him second all-time in NFL history behind Tennessee’s Chris Johnson, who put up 2,509 yards in 2009.”

A win this week on the road over the Packers would erase the memory of that crushing defeat in Santa Clara and prove this team is nothing like the squad last year that imploded after getting blown out by the Steelers.
