Panthers re-sign veteran DT Kyle Love to 1-year deal

The Carolina Panthers have re-signed defensive tackle Kyle Love to a one-year deal, according to the team website.

Love went undrafted out of Mississippi State and first signed with the Patriots. He spent three seasons there before moving on to the Jaguars and then the Chiefs.

Love first came to Carolina near the end of the 2014 season. Since then, he’s played in 57 games for the Panthers, posting 9.5 sacks, 20 QB hits, 18 tackles for a loss and four forced fumbles. Love has been a solid backup at defensive tackle.

Bringing him back helps keep the interior rotation strong and experienced, but don’t be surprised if they add another DT in the draft.
