Panthers re-sign defensive back Damian Parms to 1-year deal

The Panthers have finally started taking care of their own pending free agents for 2019. On Thursday afternoon, the official team Twitter account shared a photo welcoming back safety Damian Parms, who is pictured signing a new contract.

Parms went undrafted out of Florida Atlantic. The Falcons gave him his first chance in the NFL in May of 2015. He was on and off their roster until September 2016, when the Bills signed him to their practice squad. Carolina picked him up the next year. In 2018, he was placed on injured reserve after suffering a shoulder injury against Buffalo in the preseason.

Parms was an exclusive rights free agent. He projects purely as a depth and practice squad kind of player and has yet to be active in a live game. He is signing a one-year deal, joining Eric Reid, Rashaan Gaulden and Da’Norris Searcy as the only safeties currently on the team.
