Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey wins NFC Offensive Player of the Month

Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey was as productive in September as anyone else in the NFL. It’s only appropriate then that he’s been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month.

Oddly enough, this is McCaffrey’s first weekly or monthly award since he entered the league in 2017.

McCaffrey earned it by having a historic month. He currently leads the league in rushing yards (411) and total yards from scrimmage (629). His 111 touches is also more than anyone else in the NFL.

The presence of Patrick Mahomes makes any talk of McCaffrey being an MVP candidate a moot point. Even still, McCaffrey has established himself as one of the elite skill players in the sport. For our money, he’s the best running back in the league right now.
