Panthers put Natrell Jamerson on IR, promote WR from practice squad

The Panthers announced a couple of roster moves today. First, cornerback Natrell Jamerson has been placed on the injured reserve list with a foot injury. Taking his place on the 53-man roster will be wide receiver DeAndrew White, who was promoted from the practice squad. Braxton Miller will take White’s place.

Jamerson played five games with Carolina this season but saw limited playing time. The defense and special teams units should be strong enough to withstand his absence.

As for White, he comes in at an interesting time. The Panthers are reported to be in the market for a wide receiver, which makes sense given that group’s underwhelming production thus far ans Chris Hogan being on IR.

White had a standout performance in the final preseason game of the year against the Steelers. He caught four passes and totaled 94 yards.
