Panthers place G Michael Schofield on COVID-19/reserve list

The first month of the 2020 NFL season was relatively clean when it came to avoiding positive COVID-19 tests. The last few weeks have been a different story, with multiple teams getting multiple positive tests and several games having to be postponed.

The Carolina Panthers have also been touched by the virus. According to Tom Pelissero at NFL Network, guard Michael Schofield has been placed on the COVID-19/reserve list.

Schofield joins backup center Tyler Larsen on the list.

Today and Tuesday the team is working remotely due to a positive test. It’s unclear if it was Schofield’s test that was responsible for the change in the team’s schedule.

Playing games in a bubble is still a great idea to make sure the NFL can finish this season, but as of yet there doesn’t seem to be any plans for one despite the recent increase in cases among players across the league.
