Panthers owner David Tepper says he wants to host NCAA Final Four

College basketball is closer to a religion than a sport in the Carolinas, so it’s only right that the Panthers get involved at some point. Franchise owner David Tepper wants to make it happen.

Speaking at an event at Bank of America Stadium celebrating a donation of $120,000 to local schools, Tepper said he’d like to host the Final Four someday, per team reporter Bill Voth. He joked that it could happen at BofA if they put a roof overhead.

The idea is also a hint at Tepper’s greater ambitions. Unless he’s actually serious about building a roof over the field, we can assume he is going to want a new stadium for the Panthers to help fulfill his vision.
