Panthers open 4.5-point underdogs vs. Texans in Week 4 matchup

The Carolina Panthers pulled out a victory in a must-win scenario on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Now, they’ll have to prove themselves against a much tougher squad. According to BetMGM, Carolina has opened as a 4.5-point underdog for this week’s road matchup against the Houston Texans.

Houston lost its first game of the season against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in heartbreaking, shoot-yourself-in-the-foot fashion. They won their next two games though and roll into Week 4 at 2-1.

Their franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson is playing at a high level despite offensive line issues. He’s averaging 280 yards per game, has thrown six touchdown passes, one interception and has a 108.6 passer rating. Defensively, Houston may have lost Jadeveon Clowney in a trade to the Seattle Seahawks, but they still have a mean defensive front seven led by J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus, who already has four sacks.

These two teams have only met four times in their history, splitting two wins each.
