Panthers open 1.5-point favorites for Week 6 game vs. Buccaneers

The Panthers are playing the first international game in franchise history this week. On Sunday, they visit London to take on the Buccaneers in their second meeting of the season. Even though they lost the first game and this one is being played at a neutral site, the oddsmakers still prefer them.

According to BetMGM, Carolina is a 1.5-point favorite over Tampa Bay for this week’s game.

The Panthers had a chance to beat the Bucs in their second game of the season. Despite Cam Newton playing hurt and Christian McCaffrey being limited to just 37 rushing yards, Carolina could have won if they’d been able to convert at the goal line late in the fourth quarter. Instead, McCaffrey got stuffed in Norv Turner’s questionable trick play call and the Buccaneers sealed their upset, 20-14.

Tampa Bay had been getting dominated by the Panthers in recent years. The Bucs had lost nine of 11 meetings at one point. However, they have now won two in a row in this particular division rivalry.
