According to a report by Joe Person at the Athletic, Panthers outside linebacker Mario Addison has been fined $21,056 for his hit on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan last week.
Addison’s penalty was declined by Atlanta because of the huge gain Julio Jones got on the play against Luke Kuechly in coverage.
Last weekend before the game, Addison shared some trash talk on his Instagram page directed at Ryan, calling him a crybaby. While Addison was able to collect a sack, the Panthers lost to the Falcons for the 15th time in Ryan’s career 23 starts against Carolina.
Addison leads the team with eight sacks this season. He will be come a free agent at the end of the year and needs re-signing.
