It’s all about supply and demand. And what the Carolina Panthers are currently supplying, well, isn’t really in demand.
That’s the crux of today’s news regarding the organization, which has decided not to raise its ticket prices for the upcoming campaign. As announced by the Panthers, prices for non-premium seats—which averaged out around $107 per ticket this past season—will remain the same in 2022.
“Each season we take a strategic and analytical approach to ticket pricing by evaluating a variety of factors, and make a decision based on that analysis,” read Thursday’s statement to The Associated Press. “Each year our fans make the decision to spend their hard-earned money with us and we sincerely appreciate the investment our PSL owners make and the support they give us each season.”
That support, unfortunately for the franchise, has seemingly begun to fizzle out following one of the most disappointing seasons in team history. In what was supposed to be another step up in their rebuilding process, the Panthers dragged along to a 5-12 record—fueled by a miserable seven-game losing streak to end the year.
Not much hope has been restored, at least thus far, as we head into free agency and the subsequent draft at the end of April. But hopefully for the Panthers, they can soon give fans a product worth paying for.
