Panthers' Mike Tolbert puts his San Diego home on the block

Feb. 24--Carolina Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert, who began his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers, has put his home in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego on the market at $1.3 million.

Tolbert, who turned down a more lucrative contract offer from the Chargers to sign with the Panthers in 2012, purchased the property in May of that year for $1.1 million. He previously had the home on the market last summer for as much as $1.5 million.

The two-story home, built in 2008, sits behind a gated entry on about half an acre with a pool and spa, a basketball half-court, a built-in barbecue, large expanses of grass and an outdoor pavilion with a fireplace.

The 4,773 square feet of living space is highlighted by large formal rooms, a center-island chef's kitchen and a media/game room. The master suite, one of five bedrooms and five bedrooms, is outfitted with a pair of walk-in closets and a soaking tub. A private balcony overlooks the grounds.

Tolbert, 29, was limited to eight games last season after sustaining a hairline fracture in his knee in a Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The burly rusher was a Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro selection in 2013.

Dale Soliven of Realty Enterprise is the listing agent.
