Panthers injury updates: OT Russell Okung misses Thursday practice

Another lineman has been added to the Panthers’ injury report for this week. This time it’s starting left tackle Russell Okung, who sat out Thursday’s practice due to a groin issue. Defensive tackle Kawann Short (foot) and left guard Dennis Daley (ankle) also did not participate today.

Here’s a look at the updated Week 3 injury report.

Player Injury Wed Thu Fri Status
OT Russell Okung Groin DNP
DT Kawann Short Foot DNP DNP
OL Dennis Daley Ankle DNP DNP
G John Miller Ankle/Groin Limited Full
DE Yetur Gross-Matos Concussion Limited Full
DE Brian Burns Thigh Limited Full

If Okung winds up not playing on Sunday against his former team, either Greg Little or Trent Scott will start in his place.

On the bright side, the team’s second-round draft pick, defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos has cleared the concussion protocol and returned to practice after getting poked in the eye last week.
