Panthers injury updates: Bruce Irvin returns to practice

An already potent Panthers pass rush may be getting even better soon. According to Brendan Marks at the Charlotte Observer, veteran linebacker Bruce Irvin returned to practice today for the first time in weeks.

Irvin was a first-round pick by the Seahawks in 2012. He thrived the next few years as Seattle’s defense peaked. Irvin then spent two and a half seasons with the Raiders. He finished out last year on a tear with the Falcons, posting 3.5 sacks in his last four games.

When he’s back on the field, Irvin will be joining an edge rushing rotation that’s firing hot. Mario Addison, Brian Burns and Christian Miller have already combined for 7.5 sacks in three weeks.

We will be updating the injury report later today with more details after the team releases them.
