The Carolina Panthers released their first official injury report of the week as they get ready to take on the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium this coming Sunday. Five players did not practice for the Panthers, including starting quarterback Cam Newton.
Newton was again in a walking boot on Wednesday after also not practicing on Tuesday. The belief is it will be difficult for him to play this week.

Did not practice
- S Rahsaan Gauldin (groin)
- T Brandon Greene (neck)
- LB Bruce Irvin (hamstring)
- DE Kawann Short (shoulder)
Limited
- TE Greg Olsen (back)
Irvin has been out, giving rookie Brian Burns playing time. Short’s injury is something to watch as the week progresses, as he is a force on the interior of the defense.
Olsen has been limited with the back injury already but has played. He is expected to play.
