The Arizona Cardinals face a Carolina Panthers team that is not at full strength on Sunday afternoon. Not only will the Panthers be without starting quarterback Cam Newton, they also will be without two defensive starters.
Linebacker Bruce Irvin was ruled out for the game but defensive linemen Kawann Short, who was officially questionable for the game, is inactive and will not play.
Here is the full list of inactives for the Panthers:
- QB Cam Newton
- WR Brandon Zylstra
- S Rashaan Gaulden
- OLB Bruce Irvin
- T Dennis Daley
- T Brandon Greene
- DT Kawann Short
Rookie Brian Burns will start in place of Irvin. Vernon Butler will fill in for Short. Butler has two career sacks now in his third season in the league. Short was a Pro Bowler last season with three sacks last year alone. He has had as many as 11 sacks in a season.
