Panthers guard Taylor Hearn releases statement apologizing for Georgia altercation

Over the weekend, TMZ obtained footage of Panthers guard Taylor Hearn in a physical altercation outside of a bar in Augusta, Georgia. Hearn was seen arguing with a group of individuals and then trading punches with one of them. On Saturday, the team released a non-statement saying they were aware of the incident and have been in touch with the league and Hearn.

While there’s no excuse, to his credit, Hearn is taking responsibility for his actions. In a statement released through his agent, Hearn apologized and promised to learn from his mistakes, per Marcel Louis-Jacques at the Charlotte Observer.

Hearn was a college standout at Clemson but he went undrafted and did not see the field much as a rookie, playing just 13 special teams snaps. Hearn is still under contract for the 2019 season – his cap hit is just $570,000.
