Panthers final injury report: 4 players ruled out, DL Kawann Short questionable

The Carolina Panthers will take on the Arizona Cardinals this weekend at State Farm Stadium and have ruled out four players because of injury. It was already reported that starting quarterback Cam Newton is out and that Kyle Allen will replace him in the lineup.

In addition to the four players ruled out, two are questionable.

Here is the full list:

Out:

  • S Rashaan Gauldin (groin)
  • OT Brandon Greene  (neck)
  • LB Bruce Irvin (hamstring)
  • QB Cam Newton (foot)

Questionable:

  • TE Greg Olsen (back)
  • DE Kawann Short (shoulder)

Rookie Brian Burns will play in Irvin’s place. Olsen was a full participant in practice on Friday so he likely will play, while Short did not practice all week. He would appear more doubtful than questionable for the game.

The Cardinals and Panthers will each play, hoping for their first win of the year, Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. Arizona time at State Farm Stadium.
