Panthers fans react to reports of Bruce Irvin signing on Twitter

The Carolina Panthers are clearly attempting to upgrade both sides of the line of scrimmage this offseason. All of the team’s early free agency moves have been focused on linemen, one way or another. In the first week, they signed the top center in this class to replace Ryan Kalil in Matt Paradis, then they re-signed Daryl Williams and got out from under Matt Kalil’s cumbersome contract.

Today’s news indicates that they also have their eye on the defensive line. ESPN reports Carolina has signed Bruce Irvin to a one-year deal, an eight-year veteran with 43.5 career sacks and 99 QB hits.

If nothing else, their pass rush is getting a boost, as is their depth at linebacker. Here’s how fans are reacting to the news on Twitter.

As you can see, they’re mostly happy. However, there’s still no report as of yet on how much Irvin will make this year.
